What to do during the holiday season in Fargo-Moorhead

So much is happening for the holidays in Fargo, so we put this list together for you. Don’t forget your mask when you’re heading to these events and check ahead to make sure that these are still happening as planned. 

Pop-Up Holiday Installation

November 1 – December 24

Holiday installation at the entrance of the Jasper Hotel starts November 1. Buy a holiday beverage from Rosewild and get a discount code for tickets to The Northern Express at Rustic Oaks.

Christkindlmarkt

November 18 – 24

Step into your favorite Christmas movie at Christkindlmarkt, Fargo’s German-style Christmas market.

Christmas Tree Lighting

November 23 | 5 – 6 p.m.

Witness the holiday magic with Fargo’s own Christmas Tree Lighting in Broadway Square.

Holiday Lights at Lindenwood Park

November 25 – December 31 | 5:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Drive through the park to see 70+ holiday lights displays for just $10/car! The park will be open daily to the public from 5:30 p.m. -10:00 p.m.

Holiday Nights at the Red River Zoo

November 26 – 27, December 3 – 4, 10 – 11, & 17 – 18

Enjoy a festively decorated zoo with free carousel rides, a “Spot the Elf” scavenger hunt, s’mores station, special animal presentations and encounters, and more!

Santa Village

November 27 – 28, December 4 – 5, 10 – 12, 16 – 19, & 22 – 23

Visit Rheault Farm for children and adults can make holiday memories visiting Santa, meeting the elves and reindeer, taking horse-drawn carriage rides, and more.

Christmas on the Prairie

Saturday, December 4 | 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

The pioneer village will be transformed into a simpler time where carolers sing the sounds of the season and cookies are baked in a wood-burning stove.

Broadway Square’s Holiday Express

December 4 | 12 – 4 p.m.

Experience the magic of winter at Broadway Square with holiday photo stations, ice skating, gift donations, and more.

Holiday Winterfest

December 4 | 12 p.m.

Roast marshmallows, take a picture at the photobooth, and get ready for the Holiday Lights Parade! Learn more about the Holiday Winterfest.

Holiday Lights Parade

December 4 | 6:30 p.m.

The family-friendly event that truly kicks off the holidays has moved to the first Saturday in December. Watch the tractors, buses, and even boat lifts dressed up in lights travel down Broadway.

Skate with Santa

December 5 | 2:15 – 4:15 p.m.

Lace-up your skates for a free open skate with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Free hot chocolate & cookies.

The Northern Express

December 9 – 12

Find the Christmas magic at Rustic Oaks this winter with sampling, shopping, and fun Christmas experiences.

Have yourself a funky little Christmas

December 17 & 18 with matinee & late shows

Post Traumatic Funk Syndrome, Fargo’s hottest classic rock, horn band, performs the best holiday tunes from all of your classic favorites.

The Classic Nutcracker

December 17 – 19

The holiday tradition everyone loves, The Nutcracker, will be on stage at NDSU Festival Hall. This ballet performance is a perfect event for the whole family.

Sleigh Rides

December 21 – 23 | 1 – 4 p.m.

Take a scenic sleigh ride through M.B. Johnson Park and then grab a free hot chocolate and cookie.
