Xcel Energy Holiday Lights Parade
Downtown Fargo District
The annual kick-off to the holidays is the Holiday Lights Parade. This parade attracts thousands of spectators and includes hundreds of participants that decorate their entries with lights. The parade starts at 6:30pm and is presented by the Downtown Community Partnership and sponsored by Xcel Energy.

Join us in the heart of Downtown Fargo for a family friendly event to kick off the holiday season! Shop for your perfect holiday gift from local artists and vendors, warm up with hot cocoa, candy, and baked goods for purchase or take a fun holiday photo booth picture with your friends! The kids can participate in a make-and-take holiday art project while holiday music fills the Black Building.
Downtown Fargo District, 2nd Ave from Broadway to the alleyway
Stop by the warming tent for snacks from one of the food trucks or a beverage to warm you up.

Folkways invites you to celebrate the holiday season at Christkindlmarkt. Four days of festive cheer in the Outdoor Winter Wonderland, Gift Market, and Beer Hall by Front Street Taproom, all themed to look like a traditional German Christmas market. With food, live musical performances, art demonstrations, mulled wine, holiday treats, and activities for the kids, it’s a great way to get some shopping done or simply spend time out enjoying the wintry weather.

The 14th Annual Traditional Norsk Christmas Event features a taste of fine Norwegian Christmas foods, and is coming to Sons of Norway on November 30th!
Holiday Lights at Lindenwood Park

Drive through the park to see 65+ holiday lights displays for just $6/car! The park will be open daily to the public from 5:30pm-10pm.
Christmas on the Prairie
Bonanzaville, 1351 Main Ave W, West Fargo
We are excited to bring you a historic Victorian Christmas celebration at Bonanzaville! The pioneer village will be transformed to a simpler time where carolers sing the sounds of the season and cookies are baked in a wood burning stove. Cost is $3.00 for children (12 & under) and $6.00 for adults. 10am-5pm.
Comstock Christmas Light Tours
December 6th, 20th & 27th
Comstock House, 506 8th St S, Moorhead
Many contemporary Christmas traditions originated in the culture of the Victorian era and we’re highlighting that history this December. The Comstock House will be decorated and illuminated in Victorian fashion, and tours of the house will be offered to shed some light on the Christmas customs that the Comstock family and other Victorians enjoyed at the turn of the twentieth century. At the end of the tour, guests can enjoy hot chocolate and Christmas cookies. Tours leave at 5:30pm, 7pm, and 8:30pm.
Christmas with the Comstocks
Comstock House, 506 8th St S
Come celebrate a Victorian Christmas at the historic Comstock House, which will be decorated for the holidays. Guests will explore the traditions of a Victorian Christmas, by learning about the Christmas customs of the Comstock family and their friends. Play Victorian parlor games, listen to live Christmas music, enjoy hot cocoa & cookies, and even learn some local history while exploring the origins of some of our holiday traditions. 4pm-7pm.
The Classic Nutcracker
NDSU Festival Concert Hall
FMBallet’s The Classic Nutcracker choreographed by Artistic Director Matt Gasper features graceful snowflakes and flowers, the majestic Sugar Plum Fairy, an epic battle between mischievous mice and toy soldiers, plus many more characters as Clara and the prince travel to faraway lands. This holiday classic is sure to put you in the holiday spirit and is a family friendly show that will delight audiences of all ages. It is also the only ballet production which features a live, professional orchestra within a 300-mile radius. Last season the final show sold out! Get your tickets early so you don’t miss out on the magic.
Hjemkomst Center, 202 1st Ave N, Moorhead
Take a scenic sleigh ride through beautiful Viking Ship Park! The cost is $4.00 per person (children 2 and under free). Tickets are available at the door on a first come, first served basis. No reservations or advanced sales. Concessions will be available for purchase.
Holiday Nights at the Zoo
November – December
Red River Zoo, 4255 23rd Ave S, Fargo
Enjoy a family stroll through the zoo complete with charming Christmas lights and even an ice skating rink! Roast marshmallows by the campfire and enjoy up close animal encounters. Nothing says winter fun like spending time together at the zoo! Thursday through Saturday from 6pm to 9pm. (Except for Thanksgiving Day)

Fargo’s version of the North Pole! Meet Santa, decorate a cookie with Mrs. Claus, see the model train displays, enjoy the holiday light displays, make a special craft project and make memories together as a family.
Jaws, Paws, and Santa Clause
December 1st & 8th
Red River Zoo, 4255 23rd Ave S, Fargo
Enjoy a delicious warm lunch, venture over to the Wolf Cabin to meet some of our animals up close, create Christmas crafts, and top off your day by meeting Santa himself in the Discovery Barn! Each family will receive a complimentary photo with Santa courtesy of Santa Magic, and you’ll have the opportunity to purchase additional photos & packages from Santa Magic. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children (ages 2 to 14) and children under 2 are free. 10:30am-2pm.
Candy Cane Carnival for Kids
Avalon Events Center, 2525 9th Ave S, Fargo
The Candy Cane Carnival for Kids is a family-friendly event designed to kick off the holiday season for kids and families with Christmas crafts, cookies, photos, dancing, Christmas shopping and fun for EVERYONE in the family! $15 per person, children 12 months and younger free – every ticket comes with lunch (chicken strips and tater tots with a drink). 12pm-4pm.
Fargo Air Museum
Santa will catch a ride in the Sanford helicopter and arrive at 10am to visit with children about their lists and depart at 1pm. Santa’s elves will help children in and out of a couple of special airplanes as well.

“For the Beauty of the Earth” is the 92nd annual Concordia Christmas Concert with performances at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30; 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1; and 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2.
Holiday Formal with Kathie Brekke

Lindy of the North is joining once again with the Tri-College Swing Dance Club to celebrate the holiday season in style. This year, we’re featuring the fabulous musical talents of Kathie Brekke and the 42nd Street Jazz Band. We will kick off the evening with a basic swing dance lesson at 7:00 p.m., with the live music and social dancing starting around 8:00 – plus door prizes, mocktails, and baked goods! $10 per person, $5 for students with school ID. No experience or partner required.

The Arthritis Foundation’s original Jingle Bell Run is a fun way to get decked out and be festive, while racing to raise funds and awareness to cure America’s #1 cause of disability. Put on your favorite holiday costume. Tie jingle bells to your shoelaces. ’Tis the season to live it up and be jolly for a reason!
