Event Calendar Submission Guidelines

The purpose of Visit Fargo-Moorhead’s online events calendar is to feature events with appeal wide enough to attract out-of-area visitors to travel to Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo for overnight stays and/or to entice convention delegates to extend their stays for one or more days. We also list smaller, more community-focused events that are welcoming and relevant to visitors. The primary audience for the calendar is visitors, which aligns with our mission.

We have established certain guidelines to ensure the quality and relevance of the events listed. Please review the following criteria before submitting your event:

Events must be:

1. Located in the Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo Metro. Priority will be given to events with high visitor appeal (based on visitor inquiries and historical attendance figures) and those that distinguish the city and/or region
2. Open to the general public.  Events with an admission charge are allowed
3. All images and descriptions of events must be appropriate for all audiences

By submitting your event below, you consent to its use or selection by other community organizations, at their discretion, for their calendars.

Ineligible events include:

1. High or middle school activities, including sporting events, theater performances, art exhibitions, or student gatherings. 
2. Garage sales (please consider submitting these to local newspapers)
3. Commercial or sales-focused events primarily promoting a business, product, or service
4. Classes and ongoing or recurring workshops
5. Membership-only meetings for clubs or organizations 
6. Private or invitation-only events not open to the general public
7. Political rallies, political events, or politically affiliated activities
8. Religious worship services, faith-based gatherings, or devotional events
9. All fundraisers, including but not limited to charity events, benefit events, bake sales, silent auctions, faith-based fundraisers, and fundraising galas
10. Fundraisers of any kind, including charity events, benefit events, bake sales, silent auctions, and fundraising galas
11. Events located outside of the Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo metro area, as well as virtual-only events
12. Events that do not meet our community decency standards
13. Duplicate event submissions, spam, or events lacking sufficient detail

Once submitted, events are reviewed by Visit Fargo-Moorhead and, if approved, posted to the calendar within 10 business days. Visit Fargo-Moorhead may edit event information for grammar, style, and accuracy.

If an event is not approved, it will not appear on the live events calendar. Fargomoorhead.org reserves the right to refuse publication of any event for any reason.

Submission tips:

• Please include as much detailed information as possible. The more complete the listing, the more views it will receive.
• You must include the full URL when adding a website for an event: http://www.example.com
• Please make sure your photo is sized correctly. Guidelines for event photos are as follows: 865 pixels wide x 435 pixels high, 100Kb max file size, 72dpi (web resolution), JPG or PNG format.
• Please choose all categories applicable to your event. Events can be listed in more than one category, where applicable. (Our staff may reassign your event to a calendar category to better suit our classification system.)
