Located in Downtown Fargo, Drekker Brewing Company crafts beer for the Viking in all of us, in a large hall fitting the Norse heaven it’s named after.

Of all the North Dakota breweries, Drekker Brewing’s spacious beer hall is an attraction in itself. And if you’re wanting to try North Dakota and Fargo beer, the rotating selection here is the perfect starting point.

TOURS

Grains-to-Glass Tour
• First Saturday of every month at noon
• FREE, but limited to 20 guests
• Tasting session of four beers included
• Closed toe shoes are required
• Participants must be 21 years old with a valid ID

Join a brewer on a tour through the entire brewing process. Sample raw materials, get an up-close look at tanks, and finish with a guided tasting session.

Dogs are allowed on the patio, children are allowed in the brewery until 8 p.m.

FUN FACTS

• This Viking brewery is housed in a converted railroad shop. Most of the finishes are original, so you can imagine a train car rolling into the room through the massive front doors to be worked on in the lofty interior as you sip your beer.
• The word “drekker” is a combination of the Old Norse words drekka – “to drink”, drykkr – “a draft drink”, and drakkar – the feared Viking dragon ship.  

HISTORY

Drekker Brewing Company started as many breweries did: just a couple of friends brewing in a garage who loved great beer, had a dream, and worked to make it come true. 

Opened in a Downtown Fargo location in 2014, Drekker Brewing was one of the first on the brewing scene (along with Junkyard Brewing Company in Moorhead and Fargo Brewing Company). 

The name Drekker pays tribute to the Scandinavian heritage prominent in the region and dear to the founders (see the Fun Facts section for more on that). 

Starting with just a 10-barrel brewhouse, they expanded enough in five years that they decided to permanently move their brewing operations to the expansive Brewhalla location. This move allows them to increase their production from the 3,000 barrels they could brew per year in the Downtown space to 5,000 barrels (with room to grow!).
