It can be difficult to come up with what to do in the winter with kids. We asked Kathy Schommer, from Fargo Mom to help us come up with the perfect weekend itinerary for your family this winter.

Day 1
Afternoon/Evening
Conquer Ninja Gym
Duration: 1 hour
Always wanted to test your skills as a ninja warrior! Conquer Ninja Gyms has all the equipment to burn energy and bring out your inner ninja. Open-gym starts at 5:00 p.m. and is open for ages 5 and older. Get ready for the kids to leave tired and hungry after this workout!

Lucky's 13 Pub
Lucky’s 13 is a local family favorite. From wings and burgers to curated sandwiches and salads, you’ll have a tough time deciding on one thing to try!
For those that want to truly indulge, try their Monte Cristo or Cheese Curd Burger. Like lighter fare? Their Ahi Tuna Salad is always a great choice. It’s a great place to end the night with good food, a draft beer, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Scheels

After a busy day of activity, head over to Scheels to peruse the aisles for your favorite sports team, outdoor gear, or the huge array of animals on the second floor. If you’re feeling brave, take a ride on the indoor Ferris Wheel!
If you have enough room in your stomach, stop into Ginna’s café for some ice cream or a fudge (don’t worry, you can avoid the exercise section).

Morning
Black Coffee & Waffle Bar
This downtown brunch favorite is a must-try. Whether you are looking for savory or sweet, Black Coffee and Waffle Bar can satisfy those taste buds.
Try their One Bad Pig for a savory waffle version, or the Strawberry Cheesecake for a truly indulgent breakfast experience. Add a gourmet coffee drink to top of your order. Ask about their seasonal flavors to get a unique treat!

Kid-Friendly Downtown Shopping

If the weather allows, take an hour to pop into a few local shops downtown to find things you and the kids will love!
Unglued (plus Yeobo Sweet Shop)
This mecca of locally-made goods has tons of unique treasures to take home. From home décor and clothing to jewelry and kid’s gifts, you’ll be sure to find a fun souvenir to remind you of Fargo.
Let the kids indulge in the Yeobo Sweet Shop and pick some bulk candy reminiscent of old-fashioned candy stores.

Zandbroz Variety

Sickies Garage
After you’ve successfully built up an appetite, head down the road for one of the best burgers in town at Sickies!

Foss Swim

Open family swim is from 1 – 3:30 p.m. at Foss Swim and is open to everyone (even if you’re not a swim school student!). Just make sure to call ahead to enroll before diving into the fun.

Still need to shop ‘til you drop? West Acres has so much fun and play options for the whole family! Grab some lunch in the food court and then head into the mall for some shopping to wrap up your weekend.
Take a walk through the Roger Maris Museum, sneak a peek at the cute, cuddly puppies at Pets R’ Inn, and peruse the play options at Legacy Toys.
Have bigger kids? Check out the arcade near the Food Court (and grab a snack while there), and head over to Minn-Dak Market to find more local products you’ll love.
