Winter sports invade Fargo-Moorhead

Hockey Day Minnesota in Moorhead!

This is going to be a great weekend to visit Fargo-Moorhead! We’ve got a couple of really big events in the area that have to do with winter sports.  Everyone knows how popular the NHL’s outdoor games are, right?  Well, you can have a similar experience in Fargo-Moorhead this weekend with “Hockey Day Minnesota” an event featuring outdoor hockey! Now, most people would probably cringe at the idea of watching hockey outdoors in this neck of the woods.  But, this weekend is going to be a fantastic one!  Spectators and teams will be outside enjoying some mild temps, heck…warm temps in the 30’s!  This could pose an issue for the ice, but makes for a great spectator experience.  Let’s hope for the best, both for the ice and the event overall.

If you want to have a really unique experience and catch some great action just get your tickets and check it out.  There will be several games to check out too.  How often do you get to enjoy hockey the way it was meant to be played? Not too often…so don’t miss your chance to get out, get some sun and watch some great competition at Hockey Day Minnesota!

USA Curling Nationals in Fargo!

Of course we can’t forget about the USA National Curling Championships! This event is so BIG for the area! This is the real deal, folks.  These competitors are trying to secure their spot to be able to represent the USA at the World Curling Championships! Their journey starts in Fargo, ND!

Scheels Arena is going to be hopping between Feb. 12-19 with some of the best curlers in the nation.  Be sure to get your tickets and check it out!

This weekend in Fargo-Moorhead offers us all a great opportunity to experience some unique and rare events! I feel like I say this all the time, but there really isn’t an excuse for not having a great time over the coming days.   With so much going on and literally thousands of new faces in town we get to show off our great community and prove to everyone why Fargo-Moorhead is becoming known as “Tournament Town USA.”

We’d love it if you could share your experiences this weekend too!  Be sure to post some pictures to the Facebook Fanpage wall…comment, and share your thoughts on what is to a very busy weekend in the FM!  Welcome to all the competitors, coaches and spectators!  This is gonna be fun!
