Street foods you must try in Fargo-Moorhead

Food Trucks. We’ve all seen them. Maybe we’ve even eaten at one or two in our life. Did you know that Fargo has some of the BEST FOOD TRUCKS IN THE ENTIRE WORLD?? Okay. Maybe not the entire world but they’re pretty darn good. My friend Hannah and myself recently went on an adventure to find the best street food vendors in town.

Here’s what we discovered.

TACO BROS Trust-You-Bro-Platter

Here’s the thing about this dynasty that is Taco Bros. They. Never. Let. You. Down. EVER. They are always at their corner, rain or shine. If I could eat Taco Bros for breakfast, lunch and supper every day and night for the rest of my life, I would. Just off the main drag of Broadway behind The Empire you can find Taco Bros serving up a small, but delicious mix of Mexican street food. I had the Big Mike with chicken with a side of rice and beans for a whopping $5! The best value of anything I’ve ever bought in my life. My lovely friend Hannah had the chicken Mexillent (tostada with grilled corn, guacamole, chicken, rice, lettuce, and chipotle mayo) and a side of the mouthwatering mexi corn. I dare you to find something on their menu that doesn’t tickle your taste buds! Visit their Facebook page for their most up-to-date hours. When in doubt, Taco Bros. For life.

This food stand is simple and tasty. You have a couple choices; brat wurst, grilled hot dog, or polish foot long and you can add bacon for a buck. The nice man working grilled my polish foot long to perfection, slicing through the middle for added grill-age. You can also douse your dog in the common condiments, or add sauteed onions and peppers, and sauerkraut. Also, cream cheese hot dogs. If you haven’t tried cream cheese as a condiment on your hot dog, The Hot Dog Peddler would love to introduce you to that deliciousness. While a bit overpriced ($6 for my hotdog), it was a really excellent dinner choice during Cruisin’ Broadway. He isn’t out all the time, but the second you stumble upon him, your night is made. The Hot Dog Peddler. He’s a thing. Check out his Facebook page for hours and locations.

GIGI’S ICE LOLLIESGigi's Ice Lollies

Gourmet Ice pops are now in session! Gigi’s lollies are perfect for those hot Fargo days. The ice lollies are a sweet treat on a stick that come in many different flavors, creamy lemonade being my favorite! The Gigi’s Ice Lollies cart can often be found at area events including the Red River Market, RiverArts and the Moorhead Farmers Market. The owner (Nicole) is very good about responding to emails and Facebook messages letting you know when and where she will be. Some of our favorite flavors include: frozen hot chocolate, creamy lemonade, blueberry lavender, strawberry basil, honeyed peaches and cream, as well as special flavors from time to time. Everyone needs a little treat in their life, right? GO TO GIGI’S. NOW.
