Fargo-Moorhead’s Foodie Friday: Peoples Organic
Fresh food fast. If you’re looking for a healthier approach to your diet or simply the newest place to get a brew (coffee or beer) in Fargo, check out Peoples Organic. The Coffee & Wine Café opened its doors on March 12th on south 45th Street. The menu serves up many organic, gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian meal options along with your choice of wines, beers and fair trade coffee including organic, sustainable, biodynamic or vegan alternatives.
During the rush of the lunch hour, most often, you’ll be greeted at the counter as you walk in, place your order and your meal will be brought out to your table, giving you the option to pour yourself a glass of sparkling or still water. However, the level of service changes in the evening, whereas a host or hostess will seat your party and a server will take care of your orders. You can bypass both options if you just want to belly-up to the bar and order the classy way- with your feet dangling from the floor.
Just yesterday, some of my out-of-town relatives requested a “yummy and different” suggestion for dinner. Peoples Organic was deemed a great idea by their reviews. One family member eats gluten-free, so I knew this would be a haven of new options for her. I ordered the Grilled Rachel, free-range oven-roasted turkey, Swiss and sauerkraut on organic sunflower sourdough bread with a side of organic salad.
The clean, welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant was adorned with regional artwork and glass fixtures to create a space as unique as its food. Invite a friend out for lunch to Peoples Organic and try one of the farm to table or earthbound food options, and maybe a glass of wine wouldn’t hurt, too.
