A guide to celebrating St. Patrick’s Day in Fargo-Moorhead

St. Patrick’s Day is a pretty popular holiday in Fargo and its sister cities Moorhead and West Fargo… we think it’s due to the Irish blood in many residents and the fact that it’s usually celebrated with food and drink. If you enjoy St. Patrick’s Day, here are a few ways to celebrate the holiday in Fargo.

Celtic Festival

Intriguing history, arts and traditions of the seven Celtic nations take over the Historical and Cultural Society with musical performances, heritage presentations, activity booths, Celtic food, and more.

St. Patrick’s Day 5k & 10k

The 5k & 10k participants kick off the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, starting in Downtown Moorhead! The route starts at the Moorhead Center Mall and weaves along Broadway in Downtown Fargo before looping back around.

St. Patrick’s Parade

Everyone’s Irish for a day when Fargo celebrates St. Patrick’s Day in Downtown! The parade begins on Center Avenue in Moorhead, crosses the bridge onto Fargo’s NP Avenue and then turns right onto Broadway finishing at 6th Avenue North. Free parking is available in city-owned lots and on side streets located off Broadway. See the parade route here!

St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl

Start at any of the participating locations and receive your mug (filled for $5.25) and passport. Visit participating locations and receive mug refills for $3.25. When your passport is full, turn it in at Old Broadway to receive a medal (while supplies last).

Live music

Tripwire

Tripwire is an energetic band who gets everyone moving and dancing. After the activities Downtown, head to Chum’s for a fun night with this local favorite.

St. Paddy’s Day Party at The Aquarium

Ain’t no party like a Paddy’s Day party with DJ Shawn Who. This event will have free entry and is for 21+ audiences only.

When: Sunday, March 17 | 9:00 p.m. – 1:30 a.m.

Food & drink

St. Patrick’s Day Party at Old Broadway

Head to Old Broadway on St. Patrick’s Day for lots of green beer and great drink specials. Drink specials include 17 cent taps from 8-10pm and $2.75 OB beers, booze & bombs from 9-11pm, including Jameson.
