A guide to celebrating St. Patrick’s Day 2017 in Fargo-Moorhead

St. Patrick’s Day is a pretty popular holiday in the Fargo-Moorhead area. Maybe it’s because quite a few people that live in the area have a little Irish in them or maybe just because the holiday is usually celebrated with food and drink, and most of us enjoy those things. If you enjoy St. Patrick’s Day, here are a few ways to celebrate the holiday in Fargo-Moorhead.


  • St. Patrick’s Day Parade
    • Saturday, March 11  |  Downtown Fargo  |  Begins at 1:00pm
    • Everyone’s Irish for a day when Fargo-Moorhead celebrates St. Patrick’s Day in downtown Fargo! The parade begins at NP Ave, goes north up Broadway, and finishes at 6th Ave N. Free parking is available in city-owned lots and on side streets located off Broadway.


  • Celtic Festival
    • Saturday, March 11  |  Hjemkomst Center  |  10:00am-4:00pm
    • Enjoy intriguing history, arts and traditions of the seven Celtic nations – musical performances, heritage presentations, activity booths, Celtic food & more.


  • St. Patrick’s Day 5K & 10K
    • Saturday, March 11  |  Downtown Fargo  |  Begins at 1:00pm
    • The 5K & 10K participants kick off the St. Patrick’s Day parade in downtown Fargo! The route covers city streets and local bike paths starting at the south end of Broadway and finishing near Island Park.



  • Poitin @ Dempsey’s
    • Saturday, March 11  |  8:00pm-11:00pm
    • Poitin is a six-piece band featuring fiddle, banjos, guitars, mandolins, Irish bouzouki, bodhran, harmonica, bass and drums. Since 2001, the band has been entertaining audiences in the Great Northwest and beyond with their unique blend of Irish, Celtic, French-Canadian and Metis traditional dance music and ballads.



  • St. Paddy’s Day Brunch 
    • Saturday, March 11  |  Drekker Brewing Company  |  10:00am-1:00pm
    • Head to Drekker Brewing Company before the St. Patrick’s Day parade to enjoy brunch featuring food from Luna and locally brewed beers including Coffee Rudder and the mimosa-esque Drive By Glitter Bomb Sour Saison.


  • Irish Food & Drink @ Proof Artisan Distillers
    • Proof Artisan Distillers will be offering a few Irish features the weekend of the St. Patrick’s Day parade.
      • Thursday, March 9
        Irish Stew made with Drekker Brewing Company’s Broken Rudder
      • Friday, March 10
        Broken Rudder Fish ‘n’ Chips (this will also be available every Friday until Easter)
      • Saturday, March 11
        Corned Beef & Cabbage and a Reuben Sandwich Basket along with some featured drinks




  • St. Patrick’s Day Party @ Old Broadway
    • Friday, March 17  |  Old Broadway  |  4:00pm-2:00am
    • Head to Old Broadway on St. Patrick’s Day for lots of green beer and great drink specials. Drink specials include 17 cent taps from 8-10pm and $2.75 OB beers, booze & bombs from 9-11pm, including Jameson.
