Virtual Class: Mindful Abstract Painting

Explore abstract painting techniques and theory in this introduction to non-representational art. During this 1.5-hour online workshop, participants will be guided through the process of painting mindfully, intuitively, and spontaneously. Each participant will learn how to use acrylic paint, brushes, and palette knives. Class will cover the history of abstraction, application, composition, an introduction to color theory. Participants will be encouraged to begin the process of developing your own abstract language.
All materials are included with the price of this drop-in virtual session. Once you enroll, packets will be available for pick-up or at the end of the shipping date. You will receive a follow up email with information on joining the virtual meeting. If the scheduled class time is not convenient, you will also receive a link to watch the recorded class at a later date.
Supplies will be available for pick -up from Plains Art Museum front desk at the following times: Friday, January 22nd 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Saturday, January 23rd, 10:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday, January 25th, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Tuesday, January 26th, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, and Wednesday, January 27th. If you prefer to have your supplies shipped, please register by Thursday, January 21st before midnight for the class “Virtual Class: Mindful Abstract Painting + Shipping” and confirm that your address in the registration system is correct.
