Tow Hall Lecture Series–Amy Thielen

Amy Thielen is a two-time James Beard award-winning writer and chef. She has authored three books: The New Midwestern Table: 200 Heartland Recipes, Give a Girl a Knife: A Memoir, and Company: The Radically Casual Art of Cooking for Others.

Born and raised in northern MN, Thielen moved to New York City to go to culinary school and cook professionally. After completing what can only be described as a culinary tour of duty through Manhattan’s top fine dining kitchens, she moved back home to MN and began writing. Her cooking show, Heartland Table, premiered on Food Network in 2013 and ran for two seasons.

A former contributing editor to Saveur, Amy has written for and been featured in Food & Wine, The New York Times, Minneapolis Star Tribune, and The Wall Street Journal, among others, and appeared on NPR’s All Things Considered, MPR, Splendid Table, and Bizarre Foods.

Lectures begin at 10:30 a.m. at Prairie Heights Community Church, West Fargo. A Q & A session will follow. Doors open for seating at 10:00 a.m. Series tickets may be purchased at www.fargotownhall.org. Individual tickets are $40. All are welcome to attend.
