Red River Spring Market

Those who are anxiously waiting opening day of the farmers’ market can get a taste of what is
to come at an upcoming event. The Red River Market, Fargo-Moorhead’s largest farmers’
market, will host a spring market event on Saturday, April 21st, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Prairie
Roots Food Co-op.

This spring version of the weekly summer market will provide visitors a chance to peruse local
products, connect with friends, and listen to live music.

In lieu of the market’s usual produce selection, this spring market will have a wide variety of
locally made pantry items including canned goods, honey, and hot sauce, household products
like soaps and lotions, as well as arts and crafts. From fried pies by the Baker’s Wagon, to eggs,
lamb, and potatoes by Solberg Farms, there will be something for everyone at the Red River
Spring Market.

Market goers can also enjoy a glass of wine or a cup of coffee as they browse the booths or
head into neighboring Wild Terra Cider and Brewing for a locally brewed cider. A selection of
hot foods will also be available including farmers market favorites like the French crepes from
Cafe Amaury and barbecue from Texas Q. Visitors can also try the hot bar and deli selections
inside the co-op.

The Red River Market has partnered with the Prairie Roots Food Co-op to host the spring

“Prairie Roots and Red River Market are singularly united in their commitment to building a
strong local food system,” said Prairie Roots General Manager, Kaye Kirsch. “By shopping both
Red River Market and Prairie Roots, you can do all your grocery shopping and know that you
are supporting local farmers and community-owned local businesses. We are so excited to host
the spring market this year as a teaser of all the good things ahead of us this summer, coming
to Red River Market on Saturdays, and available at Prairie Roots all week long.”
The Red River Market 2018 season starts on Saturday, July 14th. You can find more details on
their website.
