“Painting Collages” by David Twamley
Please join us at the Spirit Room in Gallery I for David Twamley’s “Painting Collages,” an abstract exhibition combining acrylic paint and California graffiti photography. During the opening reception we will also be hosting musical performances by Michael Ferrara and Frank Wieble.
David Twamley grew up throughout North Dakota and Minnesota. Having studied at the Otis Art Institue in Los Angeles, and eventually teaching art, he became fascinated by the graffiti covering the city. Adventuring with his camera, sometimes most unwelcomely, he photographed hundreds of pieces of graffiti that he now combines into his artistic collages.
David Twamley has exhibited his work throughout California and North Dakota, including venues such as TAG Gallery, Eagle Rock Cultural Center, Jamestown Arts Center, and Luckman Gallery.
“Painting Collages” is made possible through funding in part by North Dakota Council on the Arts and the Arts Partnership.
