Opening Day at Fort Abercrombie State Historic Site May 27, 2023

Fort Abercrombie State Historic Site Opening Day Event – Saturday, May 27, 2023 – Open Daily 8:30 – 5:00 pm – May 27 – Sept. 4, 2023

5th Minnesota Volunteer Infantry Col D. Civil War Era Encampment at Fort Abercrombie Saturday, May 27 – 8:30 am -4:00 pm
Program presentations at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm. “Soldiering at Fort Abercrombie 1858- 1877”
The public is invited to participate in the military drills and presentations.

Award Winning Author Candace Simar of the “Abercrombie Trail” series will be on-site at Fort Abercrombie 10:00 am – 4:00 pm Saturday, May 27, 2023. Candace will be selling and signing her books in the lobby of the Fort Abercrombie State Historic Site Interpretive Center.

Guided tours of Fort Abercrombie State Historic Site on golf carts- will be available 8:30 am -4:00 pm – Adults $8.00 and Youth $3.00 for ages 14 and under. Call and make a reservation for group tours – 701-553-8513.

Visit the gallery, which includes military artifacts, the Aber Museum, located across the street in the Aber Park and Campground, is the home to all the pioneer artifacts donated by local people. Aber Museum is open daily 8:30 am – 5:00 pm = $5.00 per person. Donations are suggested to help with museum expenses. Aber Park Camping is available with water and electric hookups only—RV Campers are $25 per night, and Tent Camping is $15. -$100 per week for long-term camping; payment must be made in advance for each week—Aber Park Pavilion Rental $150 per night for events – seats of 150 people. Abercrombie is a North Country National Scenic Trail Town- The North Country National Scenic Trail starts in North Dakota at Fort Abercrombie State Historic Site.
