Indigenous Canoe and Kayak Origins and Canoeing Basics

Join us and Minnesota Naturalist Paula Comeau for a presentation on how canoes were used and made by Minnesota tribes and a canoeing guide for beginners!
Enjoy this combination of history and outdoorsmanship program held at the Moorhead Library. Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Naturalist Paula Comeau will lead us through the indigenous origins of North American-style canoes and kayaks. She will also present a beginner canoeing guide for aspiring paddlers. This program is held in partnership with:
One Book, One Community, encouraging the entire Fargo-Moorhead community to read “Hudson Bay Bound” by Natalie Warren together. More information can be found at 1book1community.org.
The Spirit Room, as well as the National Endowment of the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest, in support of this year’s NEA Big Read, “The Bear” by Andrew Krivak.
And the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
