Forest Bathing Experience w/ Nature of the North

Forest Bathing originated in Japan in the 80’s and has been a tried & true method of using nature to promote health & happiness.
Join us as Sarah Skedsvold guides us through a mini mindfulness retreat in the woods at MB Johnson Park.
This experience will include:
–> 4-6 “Mindfulness Invitations,” including a journaling/reflecting exercise and a “Tea Ceremony.”
–> Nature of the North branded field notebook to write in and take home to continue journaling your mindfulness journey.
–> Tea to sip on during the ceremony
“We encourage becoming fully present through an evolving series of invitations given by guides, who have learned to listen deeply to the forest, working in partnership with the forest and what it offers. Each invitation is crafted to help participants slow down and open their senses, giving the forest access to their emotional, physical, psychological, and spiritual being. As we do this we begin to perceive more deeply the nuances of the constant stream of communications rampant in any natural setting. We learn to let the land and its messages penetrate into our minds and hearts more deeply.”
**CLOTHING: Dress for comfort, and wear layers to stay warm. Lots of stopping and slow movement through the woods
**WHAT TO BRING: Water to stay hydrated, your own mug for the tea, and an optional blanket for warmth/sitting
WHEN: Sun, May 2nd | 10AM-12PM
WHERE: MB Johnson Park – Meet/conclude in the furthest parking lot near the boat ramp

“The goal of forest bathing is to live in the present moment while immersing your senses in the sights and sounds of a natural setting.”
While we will be in a group, this is a very individual experience! Leave your phone & all expectations behind and take some time to be fully present in nature.
