Confession: I’ve never been big into Valentine’s Day. One Valentine’s Day several years back, a friend and I killed several hours at a local bookstore, perusing grisly historical crime thrillers and melancholy war poetry. Yeah, we’re pretty cool here.
While I do enjoy going out to dinner, watching sappy BBC movies, consuming massive amounts of chocolate, and killing off beautiful flowers by forgetting to give them water, Valentine’s Day doesn’t need to hold exclusivity for any of these activities. Don’t get me wrong, all of these things (sans killing flowers) are lovely, but if you’re like me and are looking for an alternative to the out-to-eat-dinner-drinks scene, then keep reading.
*Keep in mind that Valentine’s Day is on a Sunday this year, so this itinerary is built specifically for that.
