It’s official. The infamous wood chipper movie prop from the movie ‘FARGO‘ is staying in Fargo-Moorhead for the long haul! We’re happy to announce that the once temporary exhibit is now a permanent one.
Back in May we launched “The Woodchipper” in Fargo exhibit at the FM Visitors Center. It featured the replica “stunt double” chipper and the actual movie prop borrowed to us from Milo Durben, a key grip on the movie and purchaser of the wood chipper from the movie set. Milo was kind enough to let us borrow his personal collection of movie memorabilia from the film too. Together, it made for quite a “chipper” experience for visitors to the F-M area.
At first we thought the fun would come to an end and the wood chipper would go on its way back to the farmstead where it came from for the long term This however wouldn’t end up being the case.
After seeing how much visitors enjoyed the wood chipper first hand and seeing how the exhibit’s Facebook page was growing Milo and the FM CVB were able to strike a deal that would keep the chipper in FARGO for the long term so it could remain on public display!
Make plans now to visit the wood chipper in Fargo-Moorhead at the FM Visitor Center. Inside we have “bomber” hats, a friendly staff and a camera ready to capture your experience.
There will also be an official ribbon cutting event for the wood chippers on August 23rd, 2011 at 4pm at the Visitor Center. Hope to see you there!
