We designed our Web sites to allow visitors -
clients and partners, potential clients and partners, and prospective
employees - to learn about and interact with Fargo-Moorhead Convention
& Visitors Bureau. No matter how you use our site, we'll protect your
right to privacy.
We generally don't collect personally identifiable information
(e.g., name, address, phone number, e-mail address) about
visitors to fargomoorhead.org. We may, however, collect anonymous
information. For example:
- your
IP address (a unique number assigned to every computer that
connects to the Internet)
- your
domain type (e.g., .com, .net, .edu)
- standard
information included with every communication sent on the
Internet, such as browser type, operating system, browser
language, service provider and local time.
We do gather personally identifiable information when you
volunteer to provide it. If you submit your resume, for example,
we'll ask you to provide your name, address, e-mail address,
phone number, fax number as well as your resume and covering
letter. If you choose not to disclose such information, we
may be unable to provide the information you seek or consider
you for employment at Fargo-Moorhead Convention & Visitors
Bureau.
Fargo-Moorhead Convention & Visitors Bureau may enlist
outside vendors to process personally identifiable information
for us. These vendors are obligated to keep such information
confidential, to keep it only for Fargo-Moorhead Convention
& Visitors Bureau’s benefit and to refrain from
releasing it to any third parties.
We will provide personally identifiable data to government
authorities only as required by law. Fargo-Moorhead Convention
& Visitors Bureau ensures the quality and confidentiality
of our data, and we take appropriate security pre-cautions
to ensure the safety of our data.
E-mail Messages
We will contact you by e-mail only if you've given us permission
to do so, which we assume to be the case when you ask us for
information, subscribe to the newsletter, articles or “Current
Conditions” or apply for employment. We will not provide
your e-mail address to any third parties, except to third-party
agents acting on our behalf or to our vendors as noted above.
Security
This web site takes every precaution to protect our users’
information. When users submit sensitive information via the
web site, your information is protected both online and off-line.
When our registration/order form asks users to enter sensitive
information (such as credit card number and/or social security
number), that information is encrypted and is protected with
the best
encryption software in the industry - SSL. While on a secure
page, such as our order form, the lock icon on the bottom
of Web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet
Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to unlocked, or open,
when you are just “surfing”. Learn
more about SSL.
While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information
online, we also do everything in our power to protect user-information
off-line. All of our users’ information, not just the
sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our
offices. Only employees who need the information to perform
a specific job (for example, our billing clerk or a customer
service representative) are granted access to personally identifiable
information. Our employees must use password-protected screen-savers
when they leave their desk. When they return, they must re-enter
their password to re-gain access to your information. Furthermore,
ALL employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy
practices. Every quarter, as well as any time new policies
are added, our employees are notified and/or reminded about
the importance we place on privacy, and what they can do to
ensure our customers’ information is protected. Finally,
the servers that we store personally identifiable information
on are kept in a secure environment, behind a locked cage.
If you have any questions about the security at our web site,
please contact us.
